Retirement: Microsoft HPC Pack
Microsoft is retiring all versions of HPC Pack. End of Support is August 27, 2027. HPC Pack is now entering a one-year retirement period. Microsoft will provide limited, retirement-only support during this period. The scope of this support is defined below so customers know what to expect.
In scope until End of Support:
• Security/CVE response and necessary security updates.
• Guidance from existing documentation and validated configurations.
• Assistance with supported components and documented functionality.
• Case-by-case evaluation of long-term support options where available.
Out of scope:
• Non-security fixes or product improvements.
• New features, custom code, or design changes.
• Validation of new operating systems, hardware, dependencies, architectures, or integrations.
• New product investigation or documentation.
• Migration planning, execution, or consulting.
• Unsupported configurations.
After August 27, 2027, HPC Pack will receive no updates, fixes, or technical support. Existing deployments will remain operational but unsupported.
Required action
Begin assessing and transitioning workloads now. Consider Azure Batch for managed parallel and HPC scheduling, or another appropriate Azure service. No alternative guarantees one-to-one feature parity. Engage your Microsoft account team or Cloud Solution Architect for planning.
