Public Preview: Reader Endpoint for Azure Database for MySQL

We’re happy to announce the public preview of reader endpoint support to simplify connection management when using multiple replicas in Azure Database for MySQL - Flexible Server. A reader endpoint enables automatic load balancing of read-only connection traffic across multiple replicas. It simplifies application architecture by giving you a single endpoint for read operations, enhancing both scalability and fault tolerance.

Azure Database for MySQL supports up to 10 read replicas per primary server. By routing read-only traffic through the reader endpoint, you can efficiently manage connections and optimize performance without needing to handle individual replica endpoints.
