Azure DatabricksLaunchedAzure update

Starting July 13th, 2026, customers can use Azure Databricks SQL Serverless in the UK West region to simplify analytics workloads while benefiting from instant compute, automated scaling, and reduced infrastructure management.   Eligible UK West workspaces will see Serverless selected as the default option when creating new SQL warehouses in the Azure Databricks workspace UI. Classic and Pro warehouse options will continue to be available, providing customers with flexibility to choose the warehouse type that best meets their requirements.   Users with permissions to create SQL warehouses can provision serverless warehouses in eligible workspaces. Availability depends on workspace eligibility requirements, and some workspaces may not have Databricks SQL Serverless enabled by default.
